A parent who raises their daughter to argue with her husband to get her way, incurs God's wrath!

Updated: Sep 27, 2022

A father (or mother) who raises their daughter to stand toe to toe with her husband, and argue and fight to get her way, is fighting God Himself, by sowing an evil seed that will destabilize God’s most important institution on the earth—marriage!

God had created marriage for Himself, which is why He created marriage, and all the children that come from marriage, inside His only begotten Son, the Christ.

We all claim to know things we do not know. And that is the reason we have so dutifully destroyed marriage.

Marriage, to us, has become just a means to financial security, which we have committed to our politicians to police for us, and ensure that husbands and wives share equally in it as independent beneficiaries—instead of sharing in marriage together as one indestructible unit as God had intended and commissioned from the very beginning!

Marriage has become about two parties, both of whom must be equally represented with government oversight and everyone’s approval; instead a single inseparable unit, which God had designed to strengthen the human family against the riles of the devil, as the devil searches human beings (Job 1:6-7); (1 Peter 5:8) for the evidence of wickedness he had alleged (Revelation 12:10) he could produce if God gave him the permission to search human beings (Job 1:8-11).

In His justice (Job 38:1); (Job 40:8), God gave the devil the permission the devil had asked for (Job 1:12), guaranteeing all human beings safety and security if they listened to God’s commands, and stand firm against the devil:

  • James 4:7 NIV — “Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.”

  • 1 Peter 5:1-11 NIV — “To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ’s sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed: 2 Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; 3 not lording it over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock. 4 And when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that will never fade away.

5 In the same way, you who are younger, submit yourselves to your elders. All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because,

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. 7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.

10 And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. 11 To him be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

Why does God allow us to continue to meddle in His eternal justice for all (Job 38:1); (Job 40:8)?

Because He had given us the freewill to choose between good and evil, but warned us to choose good and live!

That you are still progressing in your life and making wealth for yourself is not a sign of God’s approval of the way you have been living your life: The wicked acquire far more wealth and fame than the righteous (Psalm 73:2-3)!

So, measure your decisions and actions against God’s clear commands in the Bible, and adjust your life accordingly. That is the only way you can save yourself.

It is better that you do not have children, than to have children and mislead them into wrecking the lives of other human beings, whose husbands or wives they become.

Why is there so much focus in the Bible on the wife in marriage?

Because the woman is the marriage (Genesis 2:18)!

A woman who obeys God in marriage makes her marriage successful, and brings great blessings to herself, her marriage and her husband.

Figure 1: Proverbs 14:1 NIV — “The wise woman builds her house, but with her own hands the foolish one tears hers down.”

Any woman who chooses not to obey God in marriage disappoints God and betrays her Christ!

Figure 2: Proverbs 14:12 NIV — “There is a way that appears to be right, but in the end it leads to death.”

Our respective religions have become more about political correctness than about obedience to God. That is why God promises to never let religion escape punishment for her prostitution with politics (Revelation 17:1-2), etc.

Survivability in our crazy world is critical. But our trust in God and wholehearted devotion in obeying God’s commands always outperforms our personal wisdom in ensuring our survivability.

Therefore, placing your daughter’s right to get her own fair share of the wealth she makes with her husband over your daughter’s obedience to God in meeting God’s objective for creating her, is a great disservice to your daughter; and a wrong you must answer to God for.

The way you have chosen to do hard and honorable work to earn a living, and not to steal or murder to make wealth, is the same way your choice of raising your children in God’s righteousness must outrank your choice of helping your daughter fight her husband for what you believe is her own share of earthly materials!

As God had demonstrated with Rachael in her resentment of her sister and her combativeness, God never overlooks marital injustice. It may delay, but it is sure to come.

God did not make a lot of noise about so many things in the Bible, but left them for us to discern and apply in our everyday dealing with other people.

As everybody makes their bed, so they lie on it! Whatever you choose to favor in your everyday choices, is what shapes your destiny. There are no two ways about this.

Our all-knowing God knows everything we will do in our lives, and so equipped each of us beforehand, with things that will continue to challenge us to keep us from walking away from His eternal purpose for each of us.

For apostle Paul it was anger, which he pleaded to God three times to take away from him, and God told him that God’s Grace was sufficient for him—meaning that God had given Apostle Paul enough Grace to resist the urge to easily flare into an uncontrollable rage and sin in the process.

Moses, also, had allowed anger to get him into serious trouble with God: He allowed his personal desire to thoroughly rebuke the Israelites, to prevent him from remembering to carry out God’s explicit commands to Him to speak to the rock.

Distracted by his anger, he hit the rock, and in so doing, derailed his own destiny of leading the Israelites into the Promised Land.

God’s Grace was also sufficient for Moses as God’s Grace was sufficient for Apostle Paul. But Moses at that one moment, was not careful to avoid making errors.

God’s Grace was also sufficient for Rachael, to have prevented her from blocking her sister, Leah, from their own husband, and keeping the man’s love to herself alone.

But Rachel turned blind eyes to God’s Grace and instead, sought other ways to overcome God’s correction to her (Genesis 29:31): She gave her maid to her husband Jacob, so she could raise children through her maid (Genesis 30:1-8), prompting her sister and co-wife Leah, to respond in the same manner (Genesis 30:9-12)—further escalating the division in Jacob’s family, which God had selected to be one united front for God’s righteousness on the earth (Genesis 28:3-4).

In much the same way as Rachael, all of us today are fighting God and refusing to correct our wicked ways.

Instead, we put together our respective teams of religious experts who continue to encourage us in our division of God’s common household on the earth, as well as our respective marriages and households!

God demonstrated in the lives of the people in the Bible—Moses, Rachael, Apostle Paul, etc.—that His righteous judgment never fails to come against any human being that instituted their own righteousness, when they should have followed God’s eternal righteousness.

Rachael is counted among the righteous in the Bible because she became a helper suitable for her husband, even though she visited her sister and co-wife with a lot of wickedness:

“In breeding season I once had a dream in which I looked up and saw that the male goats mating with the flock were streaked, speckled or spotted. 11 The angel of God said to me in the dream, ‘Jacob.’ I answered, ‘Here I am.’ 12 And he said, ‘Look up and see that all the male goats mating with the flock are streaked, speckled or spotted, for I have seen all that Laban has been doing to you. 13 I am the God of Bethel, where you anointed a pillar and where you made a vow to me. Now leave this land at once and go back to your native land.’”

14 Then Rachel and Leah replied, “Do we still have any share in the inheritance of our father’s estate? 15 Does he not regard us as foreigners? Not only has he sold us, but he has used up what was paid for us. 16 Surely all the wealth that God took away from our father belongs to us and our children. So do whatever God has told you.”

17 Then Jacob put his children and his wives on camels, 18 and he drove all his livestock ahead of him, along with all the goods he had accumulated in Paddan Aram, to go to his father Isaac in the land of Canaan.

19 When Laban had gone to shear his sheep, Rachel stole her father’s household gods.” (Genesis 31: 10-19 NIV)

Rachael and Leah still loved their father and the rest of their father’s household, but they were fully away that marriage had shifted their respective allegiances from their father, Laban, to their husband, Jacob, which is why the Bible reported them as being in agreement about what they had said in Genesis 31:14-16 above.

The sisters (Leah and Rachael) were in complete agreement on God’s purpose for their marriage to Jacob, and so supported Jacob’s decision fully.

It was in the execution of their parts jointly as wives of the same man, that Rachael erred, because she chose to overlook discipline, and so, continued to be a thorn in her sister’s side in their marriage to Jacob. And she paid for those troubles by being removed from life far too early.

God understood Rachael’s resentment towards her sister because it was Rachael whom Jacob had served Laban to get as his wife.

Her sister, Leah, was thrust into the marriage by their father’s cunning ways. Yet, Leah’s marriage to Jacob was God’s providence, designed by God to demonstrate God’s righteousness.

And God did not hold that against Laban, because the man was only looking out for his less endowed older daughter, who might not had been as lucky in marriage, if he had not done what he did.

God recognized and blessed Leah’s marriage to Jacob. He also did something about Leah being deprived of a husband’s love in the marriage. Rachael simply refused to respect and honor what God had allowed, and paid the ultimate price for her resistance to God’s Grace.

Passion for our self-serving ambitions obscures our good judgment and prevents us from, each, tapping into God’s Grace to dismantle our wicked desires!
